Shoshanna Ahart is one of 24 American and German artists selected for America Meets Bavaria, an exhibition at the Oberpfaelzer Kuenstlerhaus, which commemorates the 20 year artist exchange program between the Kuenstlerhaus and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) in Sweetbriar, Virginia. All exhibiting artists have participated in the exchange program, spending time in residence at one or both art colonies. Ms. Ahart was an artist-in-residence at the VCCA in 1992 and an artist-in-residence at the Oberpfaelzer Kuenstlerhaus in 1995 and again in 1998. The exhibition is one of many special events scheduled throughout 2008 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Oberpfaelzer Kuenstlerhaus. A second installment of the exhibition, America Meets Bavaria, with other American and German artists will be held in Regensburg in September. A catalog for the exhibition, featuring both groups (June and September), will be available in September.

The Four Seasons of Eichstätt and the Altmühltal is the theme of American Artist, Shoshanna Ahart’s May exhibition in Eichstätt. The exhibition, which runs from May 4 – 31st , at the Tourist Information Center for the Altmühltal Nature Park, features the artist’s new work rendered in her signature chalk pastel technique. The public is invited to the opening on Friday, May 4th at 7 pm. Internationally known Neuburg artist, Ute Patel-Mißfeldt, will speak about the artist’s work. A musical program echoing the theme of the exhibition will be performed by Cellistin, Fatima Vaillancourt.

After 4 years, Shoshanna Ahart exhibits again in Washington! Her architectural and landscape pastel paintings will be featured in a two-person exhibition

Typical for Ahart’s work, the pastels are drenched with color and brimming with light. These works offer viewers a glimpse of her wondrous European setting and share Ahart’s fascination with her beautiful surroundings.
